    Hi All,
Just a quick query for members of DFB. My wee man is in creche in Dublin 1 and they have had AGS visit and talk to them about safety and stranger danger etc... but are having trouble getting someone from DFB in to give them a safety talk on fire etc and show off the uniform to all the would be Firemen Sams in the place - I think they said DFB would only visit primary schools - which sounded a bit odd to me since toddlers and montis should know about fire safety just as much at their ages.

Just wondering if any members in D1 area would know how they can go about this please?

    Thanks in advance,
    Gibo

    Hi there

Dfb does visit creches/monti's and playgroups and on a regular basis... However this is usually done at the request of the group to the closest station.... For you in d1 it would be north strand or tara st.....

Just phone the station at any time and ask to speak to the station officer...

With regards fire safety, we find that children of that age don't really benefit from a one off visit in terms of information retention and therefore the group must be doing it on a regular basis...

Alternatively a lot of groups come to their local stations.... For more of a tour/familiarisation ...

    Hope this helps...

    If not pm me.

    Thanks a million MalahideMan
Ill ask the creche manager to talk to Tara Street, i think my wee man for one would go out of his mind if they were allowed a tour of the fire station itself!!
    Cheers
