    Ok simple enough.

Name your team, and name realistic draft choices for the first 3 rounds that you want/would be delighted with. Later on, come back and edit in your teams actual draft choices and how they compare, and your thoughts.

    Minnesota Vikings wishlist

1st No 12: Tyron Smith OT

2nd No 43: Ryan Mallet QB

    3rd: No 3rd rounder.

Notes: A QB is imperative, and I hope it's one of Gabbert/Locker/Mallet. No DL picks unless we're getting incredible value like possibly Fairley. A WR/CB is acceptable if value is there.

    Broncos:
    1st: Marcel Dareus/Von Miller/Nick Fairley
    2nd (1st pick): Kyle Rudolph
    2nd (2nd): Stephen Paea/Martez Wilson
    3rd: Sam Acho

You forgot to name your team!!

    49ers:

1st Peterson (or Amukara if Peterson is gone)
2nd Best QB left on the board maybe Dalton
3rd Haven't given too much thought but an OLB would be nice.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,017 ✭✭✭Leslie91

    San Diego Chargers

    1. pick 18 JJ. Watt DE Wisconsin (if he slides), if not Cameron Jordan DE Cal.
    2. pick 50 Brandon Harris DB Miami, or Ras I Dowling DB Virginia
    3. pick 61 James Carpenter OL Alabama, or DeMarcus Love OL Arkansas

I would be shocked if 2 of our first 3 picks are not DL and DB. After that we are looking at OLB and OL. Not great value on OLB in round 2 though. WR is a need but that will be 3rd round earliest unless someone like Baldwin is there at pick 61.

    Baltimore Ravens

1st Jimmy Smith, if gone I'd take Ryan Kerrigan or Muhammad Wilkerson (yes that's three different positions)
    2nd Titus Young WR
    3rd Rodney Hudson Center
    4th Edmund Gates WR

Ravens have 9 nine picks, 2 compensatory picks in the 5th cannot be traded.
If Jimmy Smith is available at 21/22, trade up before the Eagles get on the clock

    Cleveland Browns

We don't have too many needs so..;)

1st Round: Paterson (LSU). I really hope they take this guy, who is good enough to go 1st overall. No matter who they draft here, the Browns still have a long way to go, so why not take the best player available? Teamed with Haden, Paterson would give the Browns the makings of an elite secondary. Plus, the chances are high of drafting a WR who turns out to be a bust this early in the 1st round-most mocks have them taking Jones (Ala).

2nd Round: A defensive end-the Browns have nothing at this position at this point. Take the highest DE on your board available-I'd love to see them going for Cameron Heyward who is an Ohio St product. If not a DE, then maybe a WR here, assuming there is value. Randall Cobb (KY) is a player I think could be Harvin type player in the NFL.

3rd Round: Take the highest rated player on your board-the Browns have many needs so any position really.

    Miami Dolphins:

Trade back and recoup a 2nd rounder.

    1. Christian Ponder/Ryan Mallet
    2. Orlando Franklin
    3. Ryan Williams/Shane Vereen/Taiwan Jones
    4. DJ Williams
    5. Denarius Moore
    6. Chris Culliver/Ricky Elmore

    New York Giants:

1st Round - Mike Pouncey OL is imperative in the 1st. Pouncey can play G/C so gives versatility.

2nd Round - Bruce Carter LB Best available LB on the board will be taken here

3rd Round - RB Daniel Thomas/DeMarco Murray: One or both of Bradshaw & Jacobs could be gone depending on free agency so a RB will be added at some point in the draft.

Look for a DT, TE & more OL help to be taken in the later rounds. The Giants wont move around in the draft.

    Detriot Lions

1st round: Prince Amukamara CB, if he slides that far. If not maybe Bowers if he slides due to his injury concerns.

    2nd round: Bruce Carter LB

    3rd round: John Moffitt OG/C

    Jags:

    1. Trade back from 16 (collect a extra 2nd if possible more likely a 3rd)
    2. 1st Round - Andy Dalton QB (My favourite QB in the draft)
    3. 2nd Round - Davon House DB
    4. 3rd Round - Chris Carter DE/OLB
    5. 3rd Round - Marcus Gilchrist DB

    New England Patriots

We have 2 picks tonight #17 and #28.

If we are picking a DL with the first pick, i see Bill trading down a couple of times to the mid-20's mark, picking up a few extra mid to later round picks for this year or next year. There should be a good few quality DLs available, just guessing i see us taking somebody like Muhammad Wilkerson.

I then see us trading our #28 pick for a 1st in next years and a 3rd next year or this year.

I see us using our #33 pick on Ingrham if he falls, if not an OLB or OL, possibly Ayers or Watkins, then using the 2nd 2nd rounder on OLB or OL what ever wasnt picked at #33.

The two 3rd rounders will prob be DL again and RB if Inghram wasnt picked.

I dont see the Pats picking a WR unless there is a player with too much value still on the board. Bill in recent interviews has said they have enough depth at WR (smokescreen?).

I believe Bill will do less trading this year as he's mentioned a couple of times that its all well and good trading for loads of picks but eventually you have to turn those picks in and get quality players. The other side of that coin is that we already have a young roster that went 14-2 last season, how many more rookies do we want on the team? and how many rookies will make the cut on a very good roster?:eek::confused:

*head explodes trying to read Bill's mind

I'd have fairly much the same outlook, and I wouldn't be hugely surprised to see them grab a running later on with Sproles on his way out, someone they can use in a similar role.

I'd definitely think leaving receiver till the fourth or fifth round is the right call, Rivers can make players look very good, but if they think Jackson is out I won't complain about them grabbing someone earlier, plus it'd be nice to have an offensive starter at a skill position to get excited about, after Matthews was such a let down.

I think this is the year to cash in on all those picks and get 6 quality players in the first three rounds. Brady I'd say has 4/5 years left, so with last years and this years draft class maturing around him, he could get a few more rings before he retires. I know BB is always thinking of next year, but they're in a really strong position to make their team incredible, and loaded with depth.

A solid running back, an outside receiving threat and the other needs you mentioned could be filled this year by round 3, then the Pats could look for depth in later rounds. And yeah, I think the WR thing is a smokescreen, in fact I could see the Pats trading up for Julio Jones if he drop a few spots. He'd be a massive upgrade over Tate.

    Philadelphia Eagles

1st Round: pick no23: Gabe Carimi OT/Jimmy Smith CB(off the field issues)
2nd Round: pick no54: Clint Boling OG
3rd Round: pick no 87 Drake Nevis DT

Good thing for Raiders this year is we don't have a 1st round pick to waste on some POS.

Mathews will be a star mark my words. He played banged up most of the year. He will be fine. VJ will be franchise tagged so we will get 2011 out of him anyway. A scatback later on maybe, but we still got Boonah, who might just be that guy. Sproles was hopeless in the return game so his loss is not as big as it might seem imho.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,345 ✭✭✭landsleaving

Hadn't really thought of the franchise tag, good shout.

I'm not as optimistic about Matthews, but I'll wait and see, way too early to panic anyway

    Jags!

1st round: trade back to later 1st round, pick up a 3rd or 4th and take Da'Quan Bowers closer to the end of the 1st.
2nd round: Colin Kaepernick (just hope he falls)
3rd round: Marcus Gilchrist (straight from a mock draft I just read, but from tape seems like a decent player!)

Ye spent it well last year!

Revised now that we got miller:

2nd(36th): Bowers. Though Austin and Paea will be just fine
2nd (48th): Kyle Rudolph (only piece of the offense that needs fixing, with elway having thrown to sharpe for years i'm sure he understands the need for a stud TE). If another good Dlineman falls to there i'll be reasonably happy too. Hell, even Akeem Ayers if he drops that far
3rd: Sam Acho. Martez Wilson if we're VERY lucky.

Also, seeing as we can now, try and get a 2nd for Orton.

McClain was good alright, first one I was happy with in a while. DMAC has turned out well also.

Still don't think you can trade players until monday.

Well at least I forecast 2 of our first 3 picks correctly, in fact the first 2 were DL and CB/DB. Also got the 3rd round WR pick right.

Disgusted with our draft so far though. It is clear our GM has no clue what he is doing when it comes to personnel. Where the F he pulled Jonas Mouton out of I will never know. I am livid.

Well, I got my picks completely wrong, primarily because I didn't forsee our front office completely ignoring the secondary.

First round was clearly a BPA pick which could turnout to be fantastic choice even though Prince was still on the board.
Not entirely happy with Titus Young. There was still a lot of decent CB's still available & weren't picked up.
The third pick was traded away (along with a forth) for another second round pick which was used to get Mickel Leshore. Rather pleased with this choice seeing as Kevin Smith was let go before the lockout. He should do well with Best as a running combo.

Bizarrely I actually got the third round pick right. The Lions traded it to the Seahawks who used it to pick up John Moffitt!!

It might be addressed in FA, Jonathan Joseph and possibly Josh Wilson will hit the market

Got a great pick with Titus Young, I had him on my wishlist for the Ravens.
He'll do well in the NFC North

I was looking at who the Chargers were drafting thinking 'hang on, I still know most of the guys being picked at this point, so why don't I know who my team is taking???'

Mouton makes some of the other picks look relatively sane in comparison.

Going to have to be FA. The only reason the pass defence put up respectable numbers last year was solely because of the DLine's pressure on the QB. Might have to rely on them again, if no CB's are added.

Would love to see Joseph arrive, but will have to see what happens.

    4th Edmund Gates WR

If Jimmy Smith is available at 21/22, trade up before the Eagles get on the clock

4 positions correct in 4 rounds
Never did I think they'd put six out of nine picks on the offense though.

1st Jimmy Smith, very happy with the pick. Cornerback wasn't a gaping need for the Ravens but more is always welcome.
6' 2'' and 211lbs he's more physical then any of the current CB's on the roster. Next Chris McAllister? Probably not but I'll hope he'll play like that minus the whole personal issues

2nd Raging over Titus Young but local lad Torrey Smith will do. Speedy and can go deep. Something Stallworth was meant to do last year but got hurt and then Cam Cameron the OC never gave him much of a chance. Smith is a high charecter guy and can only get better. Will learn more about route running from Mason in his last year and Boldin

3rd Jah Reid, I know Mayock was raving about him last week. Great run blocker and he'll fight for RT. Having said that I'm still not sold on Mike Oher at LT and I think this means the management have written off Jared Gaither :(.

4th Thought Gates would be sure to go the Raiders, all the measurables but raw :pac:. Went to the Fins. Tandon Doss is a big reciever at 6' 3'' and from the films I watching it's looking a cracking pick. I don't place a lot of stock in Mel Kiper Jr but he mocked him as a 2nd round pick

Well I'll stop there as I was comparing to the wishlist

Well my initial rage about drafting Ponder had abated somewhat. I think I was a bit biased, because out of the 6/7 QB's that could realistically have gone in the first 2 rounds, he was my least favorite. And taking him at 12 seemed ludicrous.

After reflecting a bit, the pick wasn't all that terrible. It's apparent that Ponder was higher on draft boards than most people thought. I'll give management the benefit of the doubt, that he was actually on high on the Vikings board, and not just a panic pick. They also tried to trade out and couldn't. He would probably have been long gone by the no.43 pick, so if he was the guy they wanted, it had to be then.

Sure I would've rather'd Mallet or even Dalton. But Ponders a good fit for the offence and can probably start from day 1. We can't all get what we want! Lets wait and see.

After the disappointment of the 1st round, I was pleasantly surprised by the rest of the draft. Kyle Rudoph is a 1st round talent that got picked up in the second. He will allow us to run a 2 TE set similar to NE last year. Christian Bullard, Brandon Burton and De-marcus Love are all talented players who should have gone long before they did.

Delighted with the second round onwards, but basically, this draft will live or die on the success of Christian Ponder. As might the career's of Rick Spielman and Lezlie Frazier

I think it all balances out Ponder was picked a round too high but Ballard outperformed Clayborn last season who was a first rounder and the rest were great value drafted a round later then their grading ...a solid draft i think
