"An air traffic controller was found lying in a pool of his own blood after being stabbed to death in the secure control tower at the French airport where he was working.

Police said the man was found at 8am yesterday in an office adjoining the control room floor of the tower at Basel-Mulhouse Airport".

With CCTV and tagging around these places I wouldn't think it would take much to find out who did this.

Could this have been a stress related row?

    RIP to whoever he was.

Very starnge. It seems likely it was a co-worker anyway, considering it happened in a secure area in the tower.

Sad news, he was a father and husband.

    RIP

Any planes crashes out of there recently?, wasn't there a flight that crashed (Over lake constance) IIRC and the ATC got the blame and one of the relatives killed the guy only for he to be subsequently posthumously exonerated.

This is the incident you're thinking of: Uberlingen Mid-Air Collision
I remember seeing a program about it on RTE, it was an awful tragedy with most of the passengers on the Tupolev Tu-154M being school children.

I can't say I've heard anything about an accident involving Basel-Mulhouse though, and a quick google didn't bring anything up.
