Hoping someone can help with this, one of the burners on our hob won't stay on. The ignition is working & if you hold down the dial, the gas burns through it from low to high, it just won't stay on.

Is there anything I can likely do myself to fix it ?

the heat sensing gizmo to stop it staying on if flame goes out is broken and is in the off position.[ ie stop the gas if flame goes out ]

What make model etc is it?

Thermo couple gone faulty - you will need an rgi service engineer to replace it
