No Signal

I have a Sky+ box in one room and a Sky HD in another. No problems until now. Yesterday both boxes reported that there was no satellite signal. Eventually I rang Sky. They talked me through various procedures but nothing worked. Eventually I booked a call from an engineer. About two hours later the signal came back as strong as ever. At that point I cancelled the call.

This afternoon the signal vanished again. This time it has not come back.

Has anyone encountered a problem like this? Any advice?

    Thanks in advance,

    Tim

is there a tree in the line of sight?

No. Nothing has changed over the last number of years. Could electrical activity somewhere between the dish and the line-of-sight of the satellite cause it?

could be a lnb fault, if there is no signal on both boxes.

Could the dish have been knocked ? (football scaffolding )

I can see it quite clearly and it seems fine. I suppose I will have to get an engineer.

you could ring them and threaten to cancel as you have no service,

they might do a free call out. (worth a try anyway):)

Hi not sure if this will help, have a HD box in the main room and just signed up for multi room with a Sky + box which I bought locally from a good Sat shop on Monday, all was well but got home last night to a " no sat signal being received" message telling me to unplug box and wait 5 mins, did this and all seems ok now, could this be related to your prob? same prob did not appear on the HD box which has been good for a year or so, def no line of sight probs with dish that might have given me the Sky+ prob

Thanks for the help. It turned out to be a LNB fault as John mac suggested.
