    John

In germany, basic subscribers can cherrypick sky sports for e.g. if bayern munich is playing against schalke, a bayern fan can subscribe for that weekend

It would be like a man utd fan getting sky sports here for man utd v arsenal for this weekend

yea i know, you said that in your first post.

Sky sports Here in Ireland (or uk for that matter) do not allow to cherry pick events.

As I understand it, one of the things sky is challenging about Ofcom setting the wholesale price for Sky Sports 1 & 2 is that they don't get to dictate that it's premium pack (i.e. can't be stand alone as per BT Vision). If they lose that case, and start losing customers they may follow that model themselves, but I doubt the Premier League would allow such cherry picking as above (as inevitably the (big) clubs would want a cut of each sub, rather than a fixed amount).

I'd be happy with a Football Pack that gave me all the EPL and Champions League games regardless of whether it was on Sky Sports 1 or 2

Won't happen though. Why should they when they have no real competition anyway? In mainland Europe getting access to different content is a lot more common whereas here people will probably still pay Sky for RTE and "the basics" when a Saorview/Freesat HD box is available..

If a box like this does arrive soon I'll be going anyway - never watch anything on the Sky packages except the football these days and even that can be seen elsewhere nowadays.
