It's a very interesting approach. I have never heard of anyone starting with one foot putts and working their way out, but it is definitely a great way to do it (given six years to master the game!).

I don't think he will make it on tour, but I do think he will be a scratch golfer in less than 3 years, I've always looked a golf as more of a skill than a sport, more time you practice the better you get,
I'm off 7 with about 3000 hours devoted to the game so far , I'm going to follow his blog and see how he gets on !

Reading it, I was at first thinking I'd love to have the financial security to give it a try... but, six hours a day, six days a week - I honestly think I'd end up hating the game within six months.

Can we do a quick straw poll: at the height of the season - how much time do u spend on golf a week?

I reckon I'd play twice a week with maybe one visit to range added in and - now that I've joined a club - maybe a 90-minute chipping/putting session.

I wouldn't have the interest of much more than that - then again some weeks I might play four times and be still mad for a game. Other times I might not play all week and wouldn't miss it.
