I recently got a docking station for my iPhone which I love and get a lot of use out of. However when the iPhone is plugged in it charges it at the same time and I'm just wondering if this would damage or shorten the battery life? I mean if its being plugged in and out once or twice a day and not being allowed charge fully would this damage the battery?

Like all battery's you should cycle it i.e. Fully charge and fully drain every few weeks. But day to day you won't be doing damage.

Letting it fully drain everytime is best, although impractical.
If there was a way to disable charging when not needed I would
