It's hard to know cos the engine isn't given.

But a 1.9 TDI would be two and a half grand.

PMSL at a main dealer with an email address like that :o. Skoda cleared out dealers for not investing in showrooms but are ok with dealers using an email address that reads like something a giggley adolescent couple might have made up when they first discovered the Internet back when the Felecia was the mainstay of the Skoda range. It's amazing how things that cost next to nothing to put right can be overlooked and make a business look extremely amateur.

I suppose to discuss/debate the apparent 9,000 Euro price increase in a matter of days.

Also a good excuse for some car porn :D

OT, but is the tax on that really 156, thought they had a rear spoiler if they've had the greenline type modifications?
Maybe it has the spoiler and I cant see it.

Surely the 9 is a typo though, no?

EDIT: Actually, I see now that it says supplied on Irish plates, so a typo being the reason is unlikely.

Do you not like looking at pics of a beautiful car with smooth paintwork and an rear as big as the Skoda's, not to mention the two big round dials in the cluster?
Do you not think of slowly opening the boot, running your fingers along the edges and slowly putting in your stuff and packing everything in until it can't take anymore?

Quelle surprise, the dealers give us grief for buying in NI or UK yet this plum goes and buys and then aims to rip the Irish customer with a price like that.

Lovely car, but not at that price.

Is the car now overpriced or is it really more a case that it was underpriced in the North ?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,857 ✭✭✭Reloc8

Even without the mark-up I see these on carzone with dealers in dublin, less mileage, seems to be same car, for 16.5k...what's he at ? Or am I missing something and this is the most fantastic Skoda Superb with 60k miles on it that anyone has ever seen ?

  • Moderators, Home & Garden Moderators, Regional Midwest Moderators, Regional West Moderators Posts: 16,724 Mod ✭✭✭✭yop

I emailed the dealer there to ask why the increase. Outside of the VRT and plates where did the 9k euro markup come from.

    I suspect I won't get a response.

Someone do a screenshot of the donedeal ad before its taken down?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,096 ✭✭✭johnos1984

    Simples people.

Vote with your feet and buy elsewhere.

Don't forget prices in the north are more expensive than in Great Britain by about 10-15% from what I have been able to figure out

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,565 ✭✭✭quad_red

Of course, people are free to charge what they want for something. Whether they will get it is another thing though.

But the complete disparity between allot of pricing decisions and what the market price is is confusing.

Like, I see ten examples of the exact same model and spec of my car with half the mileage... and i'm going to put a price 5k more than them.

Irish people love getting one over the dealer and getting a nice discount. I'd imagine this has a very nice discount priced into it so some punter can drive away happy with the great deal he got on it, and the dealer can wave goodbye knowing he's made a tasty profit at the same time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 562 ✭✭✭turbodiesel

A bit cheeky using the same photos, lazy git.

Like someone said. If it's dropped by 3-4 k for cash the punter will think they got a great deal.....

What is there to debate? The man bought a car for cheap, increased it's saleability (by virtue of putting VRT on it) and is now selling it again, for a profit. Hardly a crime, or even worthy of discussion. No one is being forced to buy it.
