    Good Afternoon Boardsies,

As part of a college assignment I'm lucky enough to have to produce complete financial statements for a fictitious bar / music venue.... The only problem is I don't have a clue where to start!

I downloaded a 'cash flow wizard' off aib's website, which is basically a layout I can follow.

I'm guessing I have to do a profit and loss and balance sheet? Should I do this first?
And Ratios? I know all the formulas, but how can I come up with realistic figures?

If you guys have any templates or anything I can follow I would really appreciate your help, as I am really starting to panic now!!

Oh, I must also mention I am not studying Accountancy... So that's why I'm so clueless!! It's just a part of a business plan..

    So please be kind :)

if you look at www.cro.ie (or maybe its www.odce.ie - sorry i forget which), you will see what is meant by "final accounts". (Like a foreign language), accountancy has its own "language"....

Clarity of presentation is important - be sure to title the accounts as "projected" if that is the case....

if you "google" lots of templates are available. good luck:)

sorry - i didnt reply about ratios - again if you "google" you will see that these are related to simplifying info relating to liquidity/ return on capital/ profitability etc. The ratio itself is just expressing two elements as 1 to X, written 1:x, or x to 1, e.g. sales per employee is (say) 50000 euro. There is no end to the number of ratios you could devise, but stick with a few of the more usual ones which give useful info for making decisions, and are "tried and true"

i think the best think for you would be donwload a set of accounts of a real bar/pub and just copy it with some changes etc. you will have to do some searching to find a suitable company but probably easier for you to do it this way. you should be able to find one on cro or vision net. th eonly thing is you need a log in otherwise you will have to pay for it. if you want, let me know and ill get it for you and can email it to you then

do you have to pay to view all company reports on vision-net?!?!

or is it possible to look at relevant parts for free?

thanks for the information so far :)
