    Define light usage?

If its new give time for the battery life to kick in. It will take a while for the battery to wear in.

Or get a spare battery from ebay for a tenner. You can always just stick it in and save time charging the other one till you can.

GPS? I can kill my battery in 2 hours with GPS and 100% screen brightness.

But other than that it should last more than an hour, even 3D gaming. No battery will wear in to normal range from that low a level, it should be somewhere near 100% after a full cycle. You have a faulty battery/phone, kick up a fuss until they replace one or the other.

I can easily get 1 day out of my nexus s battery. If im very careful 2 days. Here is a few tips that i use to preserve battery life. Also google for more tips

Have a black/dark wallpaper as bright wallpapers use more power.
I use auto brightness but you maybe better off setting your brightness low.
Go to Battery use in setting and see what is using your battery life and force close if your not using them. Your display should be by far your biggest battery drainer.
I use APNdroid app to kill 3g when im not using the phone as i dont need to push my mails.

With 3g turned off (roaming abroad), and using for just calls + music I get a 3+ days out of it. It has 1600mAh battery, more than some other models. If you only get an hour out of it something is very wrong. As others have said, try to check what is using the battery (settings -> about phone -> battery use). Oh, do NOT "force-close" things or use a task killer. Just change settings or uninstall apps. If you have to task-kill then the culprit app is buggy. Note just because something is running doesn't mean it's using cpu or battery (it does use memory but just let android manage that).

I'm using cyanogen7 on mine, mainly so I can boost the output volume (stock has eu restrictions). However, I have noticed that the wifi hotspot provided with the custom rom only does ad-hoc mode only, so I can't use it to tether android tablet -.- Am pretty sure stock rom has infra-mode which would work... Very strange.

Is anyone running stock ICs on this? Im thinking of getting one on eBay unlocked to use for my second line. What is performance like with ICS? Spec's look good, so should run OK, I think?

There is a forum for the Nexus S on XDA here where you will find various information and opinions.

    Thanks dude, thats helpful.

TBH I'm OK with daily charging, my use is such that it is unusual to get through a second day without charging, usually in the car TBH.

I was wondering if you found it laggy, etc I've had a Desire (hated HTC sense) and an SGS II, I liked it, but went back to my iPhone 4 as I generally prefer iOS. An android would be ideal to replace my 3Gs which I use on a work-privided SIM. I don't want to spend huge money and fancy a Nexus to try stock Android, thought the S might be a good compromise?

I've no complaints for what I use it for but I would not be a heavy user. I tend to also use mostly stock apps. It does what I need easily. :)
