Rumours filtering through Twitter that a bomb has went off in Derry..

.. could be unsubstantiated to be honest.

More details to follow though I'm sure.

Im hearing its a car bomb at the cop shop in Derry.

These things tend to be exaggerated, for instance rumors shots where fired.

    Probably a banger.

Its too early to say what it was in fairness, last time you would have thought half the city was nuked from the tweets and it turned out to be a pipebomb in a doorway.

hopefully no-one was hurt it is just sad to see the resurgence of violence at all.
to think another generation has to go through the mill is too much.

Model school mentioned, poster elsewhere headed down to look says he sees nothing down there. School is beside the police station.

martinmcauley: Right, stop RTing anything that mentions an alert in derry if it begins with "reports of...". If the source isn't first hand, it's useless.

Ijrea: RT @dt_ni: Tonight's confusion over the situation in Derry shows why we need real journalists who don't report until they have old-fashioned facts.

    Hello folks.
As per usual with this stuff we'll have to stall conversation until we can find an indication from a reputable source that this story is true. Otherwise we're fanning the flames of a potential hysteria.
Please PM for clarification / with clarification as applicable.
