    Hi All,
Can anyone advise me re specific pieces of music/songs that are suited to walking up the aisle, and again, at the end of the Mass when walking down the aisle? Have a harpist, and tin whistle, but not too keen on the traditional Bridal March..thanks in advance for the replies, and I hope this is in the right forum!

I personally love pie jesu...for walking up the aisle, if i was anyway religious of course. for going back down after getting married, choose a song that means something to you both and is uplifting (flying without wings but not as tacky for example)...the other option is you talk to the music co-ordinator in the church and see what s/he thinks. they'll know more music than most and will know what they can feasibly play...i'd say an hour having a chat would get you sorted..

You said you have a harpist. Why not speak to them? We spoke to the harpist who is marrying us, and she gave us some really great ideas. You can go with something traditional, like avia Maria, or something Irish such as "I ngra leat". Just go onto YouTube and have a listen to harp wedding songs, there are plenty out there!

I did, we had a good chat, but she offered me mainly traditional ideas.. just looking for extra ideas... Thanks for your suggestions, I'll be on you tube later:)

No problem at all! There's also a great piece called "River Flows in You" which we are having in our ceremony.

We had chosen canon in d for down the aisle - the cd messed up at the big moment though and I ended up walking down to ave maria :D . Nobody noticed though obviously. For us all walking back up the aisle, we played hoppipolla from sigur ros which was great :D

My friend is a big fan of musicals and had the wedding march from the Sound of Music (the one Maria walked down the aisle to!) play as she walked down the aisle on the organ. It was just so her and really suited the wedding, It was quite unusual as well.

Fields of gold sounds great with a harp, just the bridge and chorous mind. Wasnt a dry eye in the house!
