    - some people think that because you pay tax you have a say. That because you contribute your voice must be heard.

    - other people see tax as something that we just have to pay. that just because you pay tax doesnt mean a thing. you have no voice. The government doesnt care what you have to say, as long as you are still paying those taxes.

So whats your views on it?
for me personally, it annoys me when someone spouts on about how they have to pay tax and they have a right/say. Sad fact is all tax payers dont. Government dont care.

If the government listened to everyone who pays tax the country would be a circus. The government don't give a ****. The only thing the government think of is what happens when 5 years is up.

Tax payers are voters and are thus responsible for who they vote for in an election. If you dont vote thats your chance to have a voice gone and if the electorate vote in somebody ****e (see FF for the last 14 years) then well your voice was, well, stupid.

not true , if only 40% vote for a party and they get a majority in the dail then only 40% of the voters got thier choice, and then add into that the people that did not vote at all and the true figure is less

just because you had a FF gov dont suggest we are all at fault ,
only FF voters made that mistake

one true fact about everyone on this island is we all pay tax

do we all have a say in how it is spent ? yes we do

I was using what i said as an example of how people do have a voice and an election is one of these.

The people may elect representatives of that quality regardless of what proportion take part in the process. Anyway, what do you consider a good choice? This is obviously subjective so who are you to deem the choice of the electorate the wrong one?

The fact is, the idea of abdicating your personal responsibility by voting for someone to represent you every few years is a farce. It merely serves to give people the illusion of control while remaining powerless. General elections don't select the Board of Anglo.
