If that's the case they would have had Jimmy Carter riddled with bullets!

He had alleged mob connections, didn't he? And republicans hated him.

Why are there so many Daily Mail links in this forum with, sorry its a Mail link said afterward? I see it a lot. Just don't bring up such rubbish.

I'd say it had something to do with Marilyn Monroe

I, and my good friend Bat Boy, fail to understand why the Daily Mail is still in circulation yet the Weekly World News is not.

Id say it had something to do with an unhinged ex-marine with a gun and a steady aim.

It is human nature to think that it was impossible for a lone looney to shoot a charismatic and handsome president, acting alone and with no conspiracy. People sometimes feel like there must be a bigger reason for tragic events like that.

Not helped by the fact that the main suspect in question was gunned down 2 days later in somewhat dubious circumstances by a man who's request to be moved to Washington so he could tell more was continually refused and the conspiricy theories have snowballed ever since .....

Fair enough, but it is difficult to establish and verify the source in a lot of the details in this event.

However, the point i am trying to make is that people find comfort in the idea that powerful and shades groups may be behind many tragic events. Sometimes people find it hard to accept events that are deeply shocking but are entirely random acts like a crazy gunman. Sometimes the scale of the tragedy has to be squared with a reason for that tragedy which is equal to the scale.

If you get what i mean. Im probably not explaining it well.

TBH this one is a conspiracy theories thread rather than an after hours one.
I would move this one however considering the rather AH responses gleaned from here I would suggest restarting it over there tbh.
