What in your opinion is the worst thing about buying a new/newer car?

You sell your good old reliable car that you know so well, then you buy somthing else that you know little or nothing about. Because you don't know your newer car anything could go wrong. I think the first couple of weeks of owning a newer car their is a subconscious voice telling you not to go on long journeys just incase the previous owner bodge repaired somthing etc etc.

Me for example I sold a reliable Volvo S80 6 odd months ago and bought an Audi which only recently has started giving me hassle. Had an oil leak fixed the other week and now I discovered that I need new front disks as their warped! First time I ever had warped disks on a car:confused:

wrapped disks.... usually happening, when brake disk overheating ... and as you know, heats up from brake pads, which been pushed by brake cylinder in calliper. once you not driving from many miles high mountains, it mean that cylinder not pull back in to calliper (it has to ... at least half mm), so it leads, that you have to recondition brake system .... well would suggest to do front brake calliper recondition .... they sometimes under rubber becoming rusty, and wont come back in to calliper. That happen with one of my cars, also on one my friend car. Suggest look in to that... other wise ... there is possibility of new brake disk warp .

Brake disks are a wear item like tyres, pads, exhausts, shocks, bushes etc. Heavy or sports cars eat disks. As previous poster said you might need new calipers also as they do rust out.

Joint first - rapid depreciation and first scratch.
One happens straight away the other you are just waiting to happen - both píss you off.

Midnight on the 31st of December can be an expensive time :(

Buying a brand new car, the worst thing can be the wait between order and delivery... and trying to mind your current car during that time.

Dealers - unfortunately they do the word so much justice

Wouldn't it be great if you could buy directly from the manufacturer! :D (I'm sure you can but God knows about the hassle)

You'd be mad to be a brand new car these days though
