Anyone a Carnivore?

I'm an omnivore, although I do eat a hell of a lot of meat and fish (yum).
Obviously some people (crazies?) are herbivores and don't meat.
Then you have vegans, they're up their with suicide bombers in my book, I just don't understand it.:P
But is anybody a proper carnivore? Exclusively eats meat. I'm thinking about that guy on the internet who ate someone there a few years ago, but surely there are some people out there who just eat meat from animals, and fish?

Being a vegan is nothing short of spitting in the face of all your ancestors who fought tooth and nail and battled their way to the top of the food tree.

They didn't do that just so you could eat flowers.

    For realz??
Veganism is the practice of eliminating the use by human beings of non-human animal products. Ethical vegans reject the commodity status of animals and the use of animal products for any purpose, while dietary vegans or strict vegetarians eliminate them from their diet only

No, Atkins Diet is just very low in carbohydrates.

You'd be very malnourished if you ate meat exclusively.

I feel the same... Vegans should be held down while we forcefully have their incisors and canines removed.

If we want a cleaner, healthier, less polluted environment, we all need to eat less meat and fish. I know most of you don't want to know this but that's the way it is!

And drive less, spend less time on the interest, cut out foreign travel, go to bed at sundown and rise at dawn, fashion our own clothes etc etc...

Seriously don't you think we should eat less meat? Cattle wastes far too much space and destroys forests etc around the world. Yes driving less too, I cycle everywhere personally.

Do you mean exclusively carnivorous OP? You would need to eat a lot of fatty meats including entrails and offal to be thoroughly nourished on such a diet. Also, there are many vegans who are very healthy on vegan diets, despite the shrunken brains ;)

Don't you think we should travel less, and live our lives in natural, rather than artificial light, as much as possible?

Seriously, I think it would be a good idea if we consumed less of everything, but I hate the way vegans and veggies assume this moral superiority, and exhort the rest of us to make a deep sacrifices, when their choice not to eat meat isn't a sacrifice of the same magnitude.

    Yea exclusively carnivorous.
There must be people who are, even if it's not healthy....surely somewhere?

There's a whole community of carnivores (or 'zero carbers' as they like to call themselves, though technically there is no such thing as a zero carb diet) and they all are, in my experience, f*cking nuts.

They always site an experiment carried out by an artic explorer called Vilhjalmur Stefansson who lived on a medically supervised all meat diet for a year with no apparent adverse consequences, including scurvy, though he did eat raw meat that does contain some vitamin C.

Thing is, it can take decades for the effects of vitamin deficiencies to show up. You can stay perfectly healthy eating nothing but potatoes and a tiny bit of fat for years too. The Irish are proof of this.

The modern father of the carnivore movement was Owsley 'The Bear' Stanley. He was the LSD cook for the Grateful Dead and eventually moved to the desert of Australia to await the impending Apocalypse as he saw it. He died last month in a car accident aged 76, but as far as I know hadn't eaten any plant material for over 50 years.

    Fascinating life all the same!

Falling for troll post in 3....2....1...

Who the fcuk are you to go saying every one of us veggies/vegans are trying to lord it over everyone else, telling them what to do? I'm a vegetarian, have been for over 4 years now and have a pretty healthy diet, actively participate in sport and enjoy eating with friends who *shock horror* eat meat when we are out (I dont eat meat replacements like Quorn etc either).

I dont tell people how to live their lives, certainly dont tell them that they must stop eating meat immediately and forever because bad things will happen, like you die omg:eek::eek:

Why is it that the vast majority of militant meat eaters fear the fact that we can live perfectly healthy lives, and yet most of us who shun meat, and meat related products, dont really care if you eat meat or not...?

Just grinds my gears when people automatically have those assumptions you know. Like I said, I've no problem if people want to eat meat...thats their choice, I have mine, and I'm cool with that:cool:

That change of words does look better though :)

If you want to eat vegan, fine.
If you want to eat meat, fine.
It's when you start giving out about the other party in AH things get locked.
