I was watching CNN last week (hotel so only thing I could watch bar some dodgy brothers and sisters in another language-like a scene out of the fast show with Channel 9)

They were branding all the Libya/Syria/Bahrain an "Arab Uprising"? Its like the media giving the war some poke, if there is indeed an actual war except civil unrest in general.

Eh, there are uprisings. By Arabs. "Arab Uprisings" seems quite apt to me...

but its civil unrest in countries with dictators, what has it got to do with being Arabs? Was our civil war called the Catholic uprising?

I don't watch CNN much, obviously other channels don't have it

It can mean only one thing : December 21st 2012.
As the locals would say in Apocalypto "Ik Uk Swik Nuk"

An Arab is any member of the ethnicity indigenous to the regions found in North Africa and West Asia. Religion isn't a factor where these uprisings are concerned, it just so happens that numerous countries along this belt are revolting at the same time.

It's really not, it's across the Arab world, North Africa and The Middle East. It's hardly exclusive to a few countries, it's a massive wave of uprisings.
