New Opel Astra GTC revealed

The first images of the new Opel Astra GTC have appeared and the car will go into production on June 7. Details on engine, pricing and technology will be revealed then. The production version of the car will make its world premiere at the Frankfurt Motor Show on September 15. The GTC will be a 5-seater, 3-door and it will join the Astra 5-door and Sports Tourer models, which are already on sale.

I think like most Opels of the last good number of years this will look the part and probably have an outrageous amount of power but ultimately the chassis dynamics will let it down compared to the class leaders. Opel/Vauxhall always seem to do this - but I suppose it works for them as their hot version do sell well.

The new (current) model Astra actually handles very well, it's just let down by some really poor (but very low CO2 :rolleyes:) diesel engines.

I hope this one feels less cramped than the previous GTC, and comes with an armrest.

It is very odd that they took so long to release this new GTC - the 5-door has been on sale for a long time.
