some of you Utd fans are just hilarious.

anyway, i agree with homer on that spine, my finished article would be this.

    VDS (Utd)
    Zabaleta (City)
    Vidic (Utd)
    Kompany (City)
    Baines (Eve)
    Parker (W'Ham)

    Wilshere (Ars)
    Nani (Utd)
    Malouda (Che)
    Tevez (City)

    Hernandez (Utd)

    Reserves (2nd XI-ish):

Hart (City); Hutton (Spu); Cahill (Bol); Hangleand (Ful); VDV (Spu); Bale (Spu); (B'Pool); Nasri (Ars); Adam (B'Pool); Carroll (Liv); Odemwingie (W'Brom).

    VDS
    Ivanovic Vidic Kompany Baines
    Nani Wilshire Modric Bale
    Berbatov Tevez

Surprised nobody has Modric yet. Spurs best player by far imo, would give my left leg to see him at United

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,710 ✭✭✭✭Paully D

    Van Der Sar

    Ivanovic Kompany Vidic Baines

    Barton Parker Modric Nani

    Tevez Berbatov

Subs: Robinson, Huth, Adam, Downing, Tiote, Yaya Toure, Odemwingie

  • Users Awaiting Email Confirmation Posts: 15,001 ✭✭✭✭Pepe LeFrits

    Ivanovic - Kompany - Baines
    ...... Parker - de Jong
    .... Nani - Modric - Nasri
    ........ van der Vaart
    .... Berbatov - van Persie

    Fly goalie.

    Van der Sar

    Hutton--Vidic--Kompany--Baines

    Nani--Adam--Parker--Jarvis

    Van der Vaart--Tevez

I haven't actually watched much english football this season but thats from what I have seen.

    VDS
    Ivanovich, Kompany, Vidic, Baines,
    Nani, Parker, Adam, Bale,
    Hernandez, Berbatov.

I was gonna have Valencia on the right and Nani on the left but felt Valencia missed too much of the season. Honourable mention for Nasri, but his form died off the later the season went on.

Just see I totally missed Jarvis, he also has had a great season.

    No striker deserves to get in the PL team of the year IMO, esp compared to last year. Even as a Spurs fan I thought it was a joke that Bale won POTY, I don't even think he should be in TOTY, neither do I think VDV should. Don't get me wrong, I think he's had a great year but there is more deserving players, IMO VDV tailed off around Jan/Feb while players like Wilshere and Parker are better than ever. Anyways, my team;

    Hart
    Ivanovic Kompany Vidic Baines
Nani Modric Parker Wilshere Adam Malouda.

The only difficult enough spots to pick were Malouda's, Hart's and Ivanovic's. The rest are certs imo.

What you say about the strikers is so true, bar Hernandez, young and his first season in english football and to be on 19goals for the season, surely this cannot be overlooked.

Also I don't see how Malouda gets in on the substandard season he has had, bar maybe 5 games in which he did play to his potential.

    hart

    ivanovic - vidic - cahill - baines

    nani - adam- parker- bale

    dempsey

    tevez

honourable mentions to coleman, kompany, samba, huth, van der vaart, nasri, malouda, t.cahill, meireles, jarvis, barton, nolan, brunt, j.mcCarthy, doyle, carroll, berbatov & hernandez

You could pick 5 teams for this but here mine

    VDS
    Ivanovic Vidic Kompany Baines
    Parker
    Nani Adam VDV
    Tevez Chico

Some unlucky names not to make it were Lucas, Wilshere, Hart and Cahill (bolton)

    Van der Sar
    Ivanovic Vidic Kompany Baines
    Nani Parker Touré Wilshire Modric
    Tevez

Almost had Brunt on the left but I'm a big Modric fan and I think he's been top class for Spurs this year, although possibly could've scored more.

Honourable mentions; Hart, Cahill, Huth, Nasri, Adam, Barton, Mereiles, Nolan, Bent, Berba, Chicarito, and Martin Kelly has looked good for Liverpool.

Now I'll fully admit I haven't seen much of City this season(maybe 12-15 games) but I think Yaya Touré has been great the majority of times i've seen them play. His workrate, passing and driving runs were very important for City this season and he's chipped in with a few goals.

How funny would it be if I posted a Chelsea eleven? Man. Utd. fans are very precious on here when things go against them, so why shouldn't they be held to the same high standards?

Surprised that Yaya Toure hasn't been said by many people here yet...

    - - - - - - Van Der Sar - - - - - -
    - Ivanovic - Vidic - kompany - Baines-
-Van der vaart - Yaya toure - Adam - Nani-
    -Drogba - torres:pac: Tevez-

coleman, Nasri, Malouda, Hernandez could be in there but you can't have 15 in a team so the above 11 will have to do

Malouda's been very poor this year, all I hear is Chelsea fans calling for him to be dropped. Put Nani left and Nasri on the right, otherwise I agree with your team.

Don't forget its team of the year, not best team of the last 3 months. Malouda still has 13 goals this season, he played the form of his life at the start of the season, dropped away before christmas, but is back playing decent now again, to say he has been very poor this year is an extremely harsh comment!

Probably a little harsh alright, but if his own fans were calling for him to be dropped as recently as the Utd quarter finals I think someone like Nasri deserves to be in Team of the Season ahead of him.

How is there no Cech in any of these teams? Chelsea have the best defence in the league, Cech also has the highest save to shot ratio in the league. Don't get me wrong VDS has been very good, just not as good as Cech.

me personally, cech has made some fantastic saves BUT he still isn't a brave as he used to / should be when going up for crosses and going in at feet ect. He is indecisive of late too, seen him being given out too by his own defenders a few too many times this season. He really isn't the same player since the injury in reality! Van der Sar has been the better keeper all round this season.

Cech - Has been let down by Chelseas defence a lot this season.

Enrique - Vital figure for Newcastle
    Vidic - Solid for United
    Kompany - Ditto for City
Right Back - Noone really stands out for me.

Nasri - Not the most consistent but showed flashes of brilliance and contributed a lot.
Van der Vaart - Much more important to Spurs than Bale
Adam - Real talisman and the main reason for Blackpool not being relegated by April.
Nani - Player of the Year imo

Tevez - Highest goalscorer bar one*
Carroll - His ability was doubted but he really proved himself.

*Imo Tevez's 19 goals have been more important than Berba's 21
