What's your summer like?

What's your summer like? Usually for me it's kinda boring; Sep-May I'm in college (although I'm finishing up now soon for good), which keeps me occupied all year. But then the summer comes...

Around April/May I'm looking forward to the summer months off college, where I get to stay up late every night, play video games, no committments, etc.

And it usually involves a holiday, like last year when I went interrailing. But other than the two weeks I was away I didn't do much - I always get terrible sleeping habits, get bored every day with nothing to do. It can be hard to get a job for just the three months off.

Do people look forward to the summer? Interested in what people's views are; I'm hoping people feel the same way and I'm not on my own here  I'm hoping to get a bit of work this summer (or I'll go insane!) and I think I might be going to Africa, so maybe this summer won't be boring as hell

Yep college aswell and work part time so when summer comes i just 3-4 days a week - get really lazy too and usually i have to fake an injury so that i can go on a months holiday - doctor is a college doc so she gives me time off when i ask if i pretend hard enough.

i want to go to afirca this year too so gonna look for a full time job and hopefully save 5-6k and do cape to cairo or cairo to cape!

Wow, sounds cool! I'm not really travelling. Hoping to go to Lesotho to do some research, and maybe visit Pretoria if we get a chance to (hoping so!). But someday i will definitely be travelling Africa, up the west coast.

A guy I know travelled up the west coast of Africa before for 7 months. He started off in southern Africa, bought a pushbike and cycled from city to town to village - where he'd teach all the local kids english and the locals would hook him up with a place to stay and one or two meals a day. Sounded amazing :)
