I just turned on my laptop and the screen won't turn on. The computer lights are on as in it is loading up ok but there is no sign of any life from the screen.
It was working a few hours ago, now nothing.

    Anyone any ideas?

    Thanks in advance

    (HP Elitebook)

There must be a bug out there - as I am having the same problem with my Dell Inspiron and its only 8 months old as well which is mega annoying.

Whats the model number of the elitebook?

Could be something simple, like lcd cable came loose for example.
If you get a torch / lamp and shine it on the screen, is it still blank or can you see text (usual icons etc.)?

try pluggin it in to an lcd tv or monitor to see if the laptop is working and the problem is just the screen...
