Quality loss from recording

Hi, I've got a Boss BR864 system at home ( herehttp://www.bosscorp.co.jp/en/BR_864.html ) which I use to record my bands songs. I've used it for a few years and love it
The only thing I've noticed is that when I finish up on a song and copy it to a cd I lose a lot of volume quality and sometimes things like the bass get lost.
Is there anything I can do to prevent this? I want to be able to send off our new EP to a couple companies and so I want to make sure they're getting the best quality.

    Dammitjanet,

We have one of these, but we use it for just getting quick musical ideas together.

I wouldn't use it for anything more than that to be honest.

    Cheers.

Are you burning straight to BR CD?

You might be better to record the monitor output direct to your PC, and then you can fix the volume in a basic audio editor.

I have one a similar model and getting the music off them is always a bit of a pain. There's not much in the way of post editing up to cd quality. If you can, try and get all the recorded files onto your computer and put them together there in a DAW or something. It's easier and you'll be able to "polish" it up. I've done it once or twice this way with ours but as Rockshamrover says, it's just a handy musical notepad.
