Well, I've two words, he won!

First match @ U8s he has won in 22 matches....they lost 21 matches.

For the lambasting I got in my last thread a few weeks ago when he said he wanted to leave his team, thanks. I followed alot of the advice and encouraged him to stick with it, despite the continual losses and the lack of organisation at the club.

So it was a 1-0 win, in a friendly match on saturday...but it was a friendly against a team who are top of their own league, and two leagues ahead of our team:D

So just thought I'd update...and he's 9 today too, so happy birthday son, here's to your football career and clearing your mammies mortgage when you're 16 and sign for someone in the Premiership;);)

Reminds me of time when I was 12 and played GAA we won no game between hurling and football that year, closest we got was being beat by 7 points. I remember we played a game against a team who beat us something like 20-13 to 1-0 I got our only goal from halfway line and only reason I scored was because their kepper was bored out of his mind and was talking to his mate leaning on post.

2 years later at u14 we played that same team in regional final and beat them by 20 points and went on to win a county medal too.
