Its free, they have to buy the rights to boxing matches.

Yes, I am so amazed that RTE are deciding to show the BIGGEST media event of the last god knows how many years. How stupid of them, sure who will tune into that when there's boxing to watch.

Boxing aside RTE should have better things to be showing than a wedding. At most it deserves a mention on the 9 o clock news.
Thats not been anti british or anything like that, its just that its sh!t reality tv. If it was me id stick on a few episodes of diff'rent strokes, that wouldnt cost much, or alf!

It's a waste of time and money, but I suppose some people will watch it...

Some? You will get many saying they won't, but they will.
You can bet there will be a whole lot more tuning in than
would tune into real crap, like Eastenders or Corrie, and there
is a huge audience in Ireland for that.
Anyway, this thread has nothing to do with boxing.

Simple: Like it or not, many many folks will tune into this, hence they
are showing it. Why some cannot grasp this is beyond me

A lot of women will watch it from the trend of people talking about it on Facebook...

Not just women. Plenty of men will watch this at some stage.
I don't see the problem at all. If that is what folks like, so be it.
I bet there are many who will never understand why we sit and
watch two men hitting each other for 12 rds.

    This.

If it was a case that people weren't going to watch it then RTE wouldn't bother showing it. But they will, because a sh*tload of people will be glued to the yoke.

That is my whole point. And, whether it's sh1t or not, that is not the issue. To many it is not sh1t, and they will enjoy the whole show. It is a show after all.

Like I said, people are into different things, not everyone likes GAA, soccer, rugby, etc. It's all about tastes.

You can bet there will be a massive audience in Ireland for this show. And if that is what folks want to see, then of course RTE should be showing it.

Still amazed some cannot see this.
