    Hi,

Getting back to playing golf and my irons are in need of replacing. In my early teens I played to a handicap of 14. Aint played seriously in about 4yrs.
I'm wondering if people could give me some advice on a set of irons in and around the price of 500e.
Thinking of a set of TM irons to replace my battered and mcGregors. (Missing my 8 iron)
Any suggestions would be great as I'm looking to improve my game and get a good few yrs outta the irons.

    Thanks
    HE

Couldnt go wrong with mizuno's mx300 for that handicap range.Lovely forged irons and very forgiving.Last years model too so could pick up a set on the cheap if you're lucky.

Mizuno MP53's are also easy to hit and a nice club. If you are looking for something very forgiving the Ping G15s are very easy to get airborne epecially the long irons, you might outgrow them soon though if you are a decent ball-striker, as with the TM if its the Burner set you are looking at, I am assuming you will be aiming to be a single-figure handicap. I am just back at the game too, have hit quite a few of the popular sets on the range, including the Pings and the TM Burner, I was tempted to purchase them as I hit them all real well, but I am pleased now I didn't, and have gone back to my old bladed clubs. Of those I used I would say the MP53's might be a good choice for yourself. The TM and the Pings do go far but I find them not so easy to control for anything less than a full shot, I found the ball soaring over the back of the green more often than not. The MP58's are also fairly forgiving and the Titleist AP2's also come highly recommended. A good used set would probably make sense, guys are trading in clubs all the time. I found this guys reviews useful to some extent, on his youtube page he has reviewed alot of the popular makes

Best thing is if you can just ask other guys at a busy driving range, or on the course, if you can try a few shots with their irons, thats what I did and found most guys very obliging, and there are all makes of clubs being used at every range and the only way you are going to know if you like a club is to wallop it a few times.

I'm with Mr.Mickles on the Mizuno MP 53s 58s. You should defiantly hit a few with them to see what you think.

Ì'm toying with upgrading my irons..play of 12.... I currently have TM R7 draw bias... initial research would point to TM Burner 2.0, Razr X Tour and Ping G15 (or is the G20 just around corner worth waiting for??)

Might get €100 for my irons and have €150 voucher for McGuirks so still need a fair bit of wedge to make up difference....

or will I just buy a Golf Buddy World Platinum (really want one!)
