Long story short my other half and I where thinking of pitching a tent with one or two of her friends some time in june (her birthday) the idea being a few drinks and some food on a nice evening some where quiet and kind of remote (preferable not more that an hour/hour and a half walk from the public transport/carpark) Does any one have any suggestions ??? We where looking for some where close’ish to Rush preferably assessable by public transport (I don’t really want to abandon the car some where). What sparked the idea was the local sand dunes but it’s a bit close to where the local kids go drinking .

    Thanks in advance
    Chris

One suggestion I'd have would be near Donabate you can go right down the beach til your beside the Malahide estuary.

Lots of nice Dunes about there, you can either go down the beach or if you walk along the road leading to the island golf club, you see a bit of a track which goes through the golfcourse, your practically walking on golf course for some of it but don't worry it is a right of way. It leads to the beach and you could just go a bit south of there.

I think its a bit far for your usual drinking teenagers I imagine they usually stay up the far end of the beach, could be wrong now, never been there at night.

It actually known as a bit of a nudist beach because it is so out of the way.

From the train station you could be looking at an hour and halfs walk I'd say.

Depending how much stuff you want to bring you could drive to within 15min walk of it, and then leave the car back in an estate in Donabate where should be safe enough, still have the hour and a half walk but won't have as much gear to be hauling, just a suggestion anyway.
