    Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone used the CGS for FAE's last year and whether it was worthwhile? What did they cover? Was it mainly CAP2 technical stuff or was it more focused on FAE technique for Case studies etc.

I'm trying to decide whether it would be worthwhile to do a couple of courses or whether I was be just as well off goign through case studies myself.

Also what subjects would you recommend doing? I havent started studyign yet so im not sure what I am going to have problems with!

I thought I'd hijack this two year old thread instead of starting a new one.

What subjects have people used CGS for,and how did you find them?

I used them for some CAP2 subjects. Found them great for Financial Reporting and Audit. But the FAE is both new(ish) and very different, so I can't really base their FAE classes on the CAP2.

So...how did people find them? Which would you recommend? Which would you recommend we avoid?

Be interested to know this also. Did anyone find the PM or audit elective helpful with CGS in particular? I sat audit cap 2 two years ago so very rusty with a lot of the standards! Or would the lectures with the institute be enough along with practice of q's?

With the cap2 it seemed like not as many people booked as previous years I think they need to reduce prices a bit

To be honest I think I could only really afford going to one of these classes. Could anyone who went last year provide any feedback or recommendations on the below courses?

    - Financial Accounting
    - Business leadership and IMP
    - Core case study preperation

Really don't know which to pick and would preferably like to go to one that's worth my time.

Went to tax and audit courses last year. I would swerve the tax one. That's just my personal opinion. I didn't find it overly useful and didn't really use the notes after. Those summarised tax notes around that were prepared by a student from 2-3 years ago were much better. Think the lecturer has a good reputation but I just didn't find it very good.

Audit one was ok. The notes booklet given out was quite good.

Found one of their lecturer's very good anytime I had him. Liam Doran I think his name is.

    Hi all,

I am looking to see if anyone is booked in for the Finance and Management Accounting on the 18th/19th of July and would be willing to swap with me for the 1st & 2nd of August coarsze that just opened up? I am away the weekend of that course so can't attend. Would be extremely greatful if someone could do a swap with me as I missed out on it originally through my own stupidity and am eager to do the grind.

    Cheers
