fusion mk1 would'nt be as good at balin hay and straw they bust the net on the bale on transfer, mk2 is a longer baler transfer is done different so not to catch the net and they be faster as well,, chains and sprockets would be the most trouble on them,, roller bearings are greased every time the door opens so dont give alot of bother untill about 60,000 r more,, ye would need 150+hp to have comfort...

is you're 6630 a premium? other wise she'll be on her knee's with out the power boost. Know of a few lads in south kilkenny runnin a fusion 2 on an 8360 ford/new holland iirc.

Fusion 2 has the bale making compartment (chamber) much higher so better on wet ground. Also, if there is a problem with the net and bale does not come out it is much easier to roll it out of the back of the baler. On Fusion 1 it has to be pushed up out of the chamber and on to the wrapper rather than just rolling out as it does on the Fusion 2. The Main plus for me is the pick up is on hydraulics connected to the tractor rather than on an electric remote so much easier to control as it is not jumpy. And you can also control the pick up when the door is opening or some other hydraulic part is working like the bale dropping off the back. Couldnt on Fusion 1. The screen is much bigger on the fusion 2 computer that goes in the tractor cab and it shows all the parts of the baler. If anything goes wrong it indicates it much more clearly than the Fusion 1. And is much easier to read and adjust in general.
Also i would recommend at least 150 horses. Would manage with a little less if the crop is light and the land is level.

I heard alot of lads were switching from Fusions back to balers and wrappers because they were too expensive/complicated to be fixing when you would have young lads driving the sh*t out of them. Still, some machine for output when you know your way around them I'd say. Best of luck.

I have bales made by a fusion. I notice that the outside inch or so is not chopped, but is chopped underneath. Does the driver tell the baler to retract the knives or is it done automatically? I gather it's to help keep the bale intact. Just wondering !!
