Eircom NGB BB Connection Dips

I have been noticing over the past few days now that my connection is dipping at times, for example.

I would be on TeamSpeak and whenever anyone speaks, it would cut out

    "I bought a new..................*dip*.........computer part today"

And I even notice it when I am playing video games. When playing Call of Duty: Black Ops on the Xbox 360, the game would freeze and "Connection Interrupted" would appear on the screen for a second and then resume.

The dip would last for say 5 seconds each and would occur every few minutes.

I have restarted the modem and checked all the usual stuff.

    Line Attenuation 28/12 dB

    Thanks in Advance
(And I know that eircom staff are not in until tomorrow, but if anyone wants to help, that would be brilliant)

    Hi VampiricPadraig,

I had your line checked to see if there is an fault, it was testing fine. Given you are on an NGB package and the line should be capable of the "up to 8MB speeds".

I spoke to managers in broadband support and the DSL sync is also showing no issues. So they asked you try the following tutorial - http://bit.ly/auwOq2 they set up for online gaming and get back to us.

    Thanks, Mark

    Sorry about the delay Mark.

It wasn't my line at all, it seems to be a computer problem. I have booted into different Operating Systems and don't seem to get this problem. I will have to investigate this further.

Thanks for checking the line anyway :)
