Strange Electrical Problem with Volvo S40

    Hi

I was wondering if anyone could help with or explain the following. Basically my car (a 2005 Volvo S40) started acting a bit strangely yesterday.

Among the problems are, the central locking won't work (either using the key or the button inside the car), the indicators won't work but the wipers are going on full speed (and can't be stopped). There is also a series of "Urgent" warnings relating to a required Airbag service, required anti-skid service, etc.

However, the car's engine is starting fine and it's moving with no problems. The radio/cd player seems to be ok as well. The car was serviced in Feb of this year although it was just a routine service.

Anyone any suggestions as to what might be wrong? While the engine is fine, it can't be driven with no indicators and the wipers going on full blast all the time.

    Thanks in advance

Similar problems were experienced on another thread here recently. Have the car's altenator checked, it's a fairly common problem.

I'd say the gem module could be plugged out. Its down under the passenger foot well. Maybe someone kicked it off by accident.

Thanks for the replies - Plug, that seems to have been the problem. Nothing was obviously disconnected but once I removed and replaced the module everything came back to normal
