    Public servants ,retired teachers ,garda etc .Those who had land to sell at the peak .Bankers at the top grade still getting bonus .Legal people Judges ,Baristers made a mint in the boom .Still many rich people in Ireland .

    Those who didn't buy into the housing boom, stayed out of the market and saved for years and can now pick up cheap bargains on property!

    People who sold a load of property at the height of the boom and put all of the cash under the floor-boards instead of re-investing it.

    I'm rather enjoying the fact that because everyone else is neck deep in debt, being basically broke is the new rich. The recession is the boom for bums, where zero trumps minus.

    Well with savings rates lower than the inflation rate what is the point in saving ?

    I sold my fully paid up house in 2007 and moved abroad .Just in time i think ;-)
