Making icons bigger

Hi all,

I'm using a SE Xperia 8, it's not rooted. It's running Adroid 2.1.

I'm used to using a 3gen ipod touch and finding it hard to getting used to how small the icons are on the phone. Now I know the screen size is a bit smaller, but the 12 icons on each page only take up a small section in the center of the screen. I was wondering if there is a way to make the icons bigger and fill the screen more without rooting it. I'm a complete noob to Android.

LauncherPro (paid version) has this feature. Never used it myself but have seen it.

I have definitely done this without paying for it; can't remember exactly how, but think it was with ADW Launcher on CM6.1

I haven't used ADW on a stock ROM but don't see why it wouldn't work.

I was making icons smaller rather than bigger, but I'm sure you can do either

Adwsettings > Screen prefrences > Desktop Columns & Desktop Rows.

Have a play with those it should increase the size of things.
