You have a caffeine addiction. The headaches are from withdrawl.

I used to be addicted to Pepsi Max, but then I noticed it was giving me awful headaches. Had to stop drinking it. Bottom line: it's not great.

Sugar, caffeine, coca leaves and alcohol

I don't see how it could possibly be bad for you

Yeah I was the same, switched to Freeway Cola from Lidl, no more money worries - no more headaches ;)

Pepsi max whilst not actually having too much sugar sugar in it, has about double the caffeine of ordinary cola. So yeah caffeine addiction ahoy :p

It's good for you. Why do you think the likes of Rooney and other sports stars drink it by the gallon? They don't do it for the money or exposure, they drink it because it makes them champions.

Like anything else, moderation is the key. If you're getting through a litre a day, you're probably overdoing it alright. Coca Cola is full of sugar and caffeine - hence the headaches when you stop drinking it.

I wouldn't be listening too much to the food nazi's who bang about sugar being all bad. We all need sugar in our diets in some form or other, it's not as evil as some like to make out.

Just take it easy on the amount you consume per day. Or switch to Coke Zero or caffeine free Diet Coke instead.

There were a few experiments done as to what coke did to old coins when they were left in it for a time. Having one every once in a while is not too bad but one every day cannot be good. Definitely sounds like you have an addiction and those headaches you are getting are from withdrawal like landsleaving said. If i were you i would try and get off the stuff.

headaches is all you guys are worried about?
I'd be more concerned about the impending diabetes

The diet and zero stuff is worse for you.

There's nothing wrong with it; don't chug it down by the litre and you'll be fine. Anal rape, that's something that can cause problems. Always wear your seatbelt.

It was probably the Aspartame, I know a few people who used Splenda all the time but had to stop because of the headaches from the Aspatame.

I'd say I have about one can of coke a week, not overly mad on the stuff but I'd say guzzling it down all week would have you wired to the moon!

Bifidus Actiregularis is more of a worry at the moment.

I came across this a while ago. I don't know how acurate this is, maybe someone with some knowledge in the field could enlighten us.

My scrawny teenage brother usually drinks about a litre of the stuff when he comes home in the afternoon, gets really hyper and irrateable for a while and then sleeps until dinner, often spending the rest of the day in a sulk. Coke related? Draw your own conclusions.

I assume you're talking about aspartame...?

This would have to be drunk in very large doses over a long period of time to cause any damage at all. Too many scare stories around about the stuff and it's effects.

Drinking too much orange juice can also cause very harmful side effects, but you don't see people warning you about that. Also, the amount of sugary tea and coffee some people consume could be considered just as harmful, if not more, as drinking a can or two of coke a day.

Like I said, as long as you don't chug down a litre of the stuff every day, you'll be fine. Maybe try and cut it down to every other day and then once or twice a week, if you're concerned about the headaches.

I drink 4 litres of Coke Zero these days. I know it's not ideal but there's worse things I could be consuming.

Coke has a corrosive effect on the enamel of your teeth. It is a) acidic b) contains loads of sugar > plaque > cavities > pain.

Not only this, but the Coca-Cola Company operates some very unethical practices in some of their world wide plants.

    Like what, bleach?

OP, it's addiction...plain and simple: cut down on it or look forward to bad skin, more headaches and possible intestinal/kidney problems. Oh and all the sugar in there that wont be broken down will help you pile on the pounds.

Your dentist will completely love you though, since you'll be paying them loads for treatments.

I used to be addicted to energy drinks (never coke, tastes rank).
But Lucozade/BPM all that crap-used to drink about 2 litres a day and would get proper cravings. Still dont have a filling strangely, but stopped and since lost a **** load of weight without doing anything differently. So yeah, that amount of sugar isnt great...

Switched it to 3-4 cups of black coffee a day. Muuuuch nicer (prob not much healthier though)
