I'm loving my 3DS, but the battery life really is god awful. I just came across the Nyko replacement battery that doubles the play time. Seems like a must.

People are reporting an issue with it and Streetpass though..seems when you remove the 3DS battery and the system goes totally dead it causes some connectivity problems when trying to detect Miis you already have.

One work around for that is to have the charger plugged into the system while you change the battery.

Has anyone come across this or tried it yet? I'd love to buy one but can only find one seller at the moment in the US and postage is a tad pricy.

Wow I was actually a little suprised at how long the battery lasted, I've only charged my 3DS once since Saturday and I've played it a fair bit.

As for that 3rd party charger not sure if it's even available here yet and I haven't seen anything about it messing up the 3DS.

I've been playing my one non stop since buying it a few days ago and I've had to charge it many times. But I've had the sound blasting and 3d on all the time. So it's been sucking the battery dry.

look at the size of it in comparison to the original 3DS battery! I'm a little surprised that you only double the battery life!

Originally I thought the same and I was going to leave it as it takes away from the consoles pretty. But then what's the point of a pretty handheld console if it keeps dying every 3-4 hours? At this point I'm willing to settle for a big ugly battery if it gives me twice the power!

There is another one of these about somewhere, it basically acts as a case for the 3DS or something.. I forget what it's called?

'but it lasts 9 to 15 hours with 3D turned on, and 15 to 24 hours with 3D turned off.'

Now that's what I'm talking about! Will have to look into that one.

This would probably be extra nice for those with bigger hands.

    a Replacement Battery for a Nintendo 3DS

yo, you's not supposed to advertise without talking to mods first.
    I'm weary of Chinese batteries.
They claim 2/3 times the mAh they actually are.

Indeed. I remember picking up a higher capacity battery for my DS from Dealextreme years ago. It didn't make any difference at all.

Indeed, apparently its nigh-on impossible to get a proper PSP replacement battery. Sony have ceased making them, which means the market is flooded with batteries that are knock offs & don't hold anywhere near the advertised charge.
