Check the tyres that are on the car already, or measure them?

You'll need t check the PCD and offset, 4 or 5 stud etc to see will they alloy actually fit. If that tyre size is ok is a different matter.

You are quoting a tyre size, not wheel specs!

As said above, you need to know the PCD and offset figures for the alloys in question.

On my reading of the figures, yes, as the PCD is identical, and they both will fit an offset of 42.

I am not an expert, though, so maybe wait for definite confirmation from someone who can say for sure.

What year is your cordoba, that offset range doesn't look very VAGish to me?

Mmmm, interesting, they look a bit arse about t1ts for lots of the fine detail to be honest, I would have expected 35 to 45 for a late Cordoba, they have that for the 99s to 01s, in fairness VAG shtuff would not be my thing. The yokes you mention should fit if they are exactly as you describe. What did they come off?

Tyres are a bit big though but only slightly.

To break it down for you the ET or offset is the distance between the flat face of the hub and the center line of the wheel.if you measure the width of a wheel and devide by 2 and then lie it face up on a flat surface and then with a tape measure the distance from the flat surface up to the mating point/hub plate of the wheel and subtract this from the half the width then you have the offset of that wheel.

    so for example..

a wheel is 200mm wide divide this by 2 gives you 100 mm as the center line.

so lie the on a flat surface face and measure distance from ground up lets say it is 65mm subtracting this from 100 gives you and ET of 35

the lower the ET number the further out your wheel will protrude from the hub and if the ET is too low for your car then the wheel will come out past the arch and be illegal,in this case the do gooder bus driven by Gay byrne will call around and arrest you :)

To summarise, the wheels will fit fine but the tyres on them are a bit big :)

Unless they are very cheap I wouldn't bother.
