    Hi,

Does anyone know if there is a bank in Dublin open at 9.00 on a Tuesday? I need to get a bank draft for an embassy interview at 10.00 Tuesday and they are obviously closed tomorrow.

    Thanks in advance

    Nah, don't think so.

It's an embassy interview for getting into the country on a J1, to the lad below

Why do you have to pay for an interview?

The fee is not for the interview itself, it's for the Visa, which the interview is a condition of.

    Yea, strange one that.
All I can think of is that he has to show that he (she?) is going with money in their pocket maybe?
Enough not to be living off the state anyway?

Would credit unions be open - which might also provide this facility (I don't think they would be open before 10 though)?

Maybe a trip across the border is called for tomorrow if possible?

Presumably your interview is in Ballsbridge at the U.S embassy.

Ulsterbank near trinity\grafton st opens at 9.30 AM. It might be a bit of a squeeze for you but a taxi fare may just get you there on time

Baggot street branch might be better for if your heading for the U.S embassy for 10

    LOL

OP, tell the driver to wait outside the bank doors with the engine running and for him to keep an eye out for you, that you will be coming out fast and will want to be getting away rapid.
...I'm sure any taxi driver will surely wait for you! :D

You might want to double check that their opening hours are still 9.30. They were up until recently at least

Ulster Bank is a good option but no bank will issue Bank Draft unless you are a customer of that bank and yes the computer wants an account number

Banks tend to on.y give bank drafts to their own customers.

Are you an ulster bank customer?

Nah, I actually have more posts than you funnily enough. I can understand jokes in threads titled "my housemate masturbates to gardening shows" or the likes, but not attention seeking in one about bank opening times. Especially when the joke ruined a classic farther ted quote. And I was in panic attack mode, ive calmed now

Yeah, overdrawn maybe but a customer alright
