Flex TT5 Remote Trigger Issue

I used to use PW Plus II's to trigger a remote camera and all worked fine and dandy for me. However I changed to PW Flex TT5's recently as I wanted the e-TTL ability and they work fine triggering flashes but yesterday I was using them to trigger a camera shutter and they wouldn't work at all or more to the point it continously worked and I couldn't get the camera to stop firing unless I unplugged the trigger cable from the OW or the camera!!

I set up the camera as normal and plugged the pre-trigger cable into the side of the camera. However as soon as I pushed the cable into the Flex TT5 the camera started firing regardless of whether the PW was turned on or not. I tried two diffrent cameras and PW's but it was the same which leads me to believe that it's either the cable or the PW's at fault. As the cable worked fine with the old PW Plus II's I'm presuming it's the Flex TT5s that are at fault.

Has anyone ever had a problem using them to trigger a remote camera before and/or is there someting I need to setup through the firmware to get them to work properly?

    Any help appreciated.

I had the same problem with triggering on the flex units, I had a couple of stereo cables and one of them worked. I use the Calumet trigger units to remote trigger the camera as I found the flex units only good for flash triggering till that went on the blink.

Leon Neal talked about this in a recent post, seems it's a known issue to PW and they are fixing it: Link

My issue is a little different as in the shutter starts firing as soon as you plug in the cable and continues until either the buffer is full or the cable is unplugged again!

Keith, what kind of stereo cable did you use that has the 3 pins for the camera end of it??

I got a canon compatible cable from calumet (not the pre-trigger one) and then plugged in a standard stereo cable into the pocketwizard. Once or twice it did that continous firing but I dont know what I did to sort it out. pain in the hole for something so expensive
