Firstly: Mods, I'm trying to tread very carefully here as I've already suffered an infraction over displaying a link to our site OK! I've even sought the advice of a mod but have received no response so it's a bit of a minefield!

We're seeking contributors to our site. We're an online magazine focusing primarily on news, events, updates and community info for Celbridge. However we don't limit content to that remit. We're still quite young having only gone live mid Feb this year. The feedback so far has been magnificent. We currently have 3 sometimes 4 other contributors whose articles range from local news to fitness to therapy so we're happy to publish an eclectic mix of content that does not pertain to Celbridge at all but fits into a 'general life' bracket.

The writers currently submitting are doing so as a beginning to build up a portfolio and to hone their craft which is perfectly fine with us. We also run a blog on the site which, if you're interested, you can post on also/instead. Really 'juicy' posts end up on the 'front page'!

Anyway - (mods take note:this is me trying to tread carefully) - I guess you can PM me if you're interested.

are you making any financial gain from the online magazine ?
    (ie. local advertisers)

are you paying for the contributers ? for their time/effort/work.

Apologies if this sounds rude but ..... why should someone contribute to making money for you ?

I happen to live a small bit away from Celbridge, but have friends there and was there for the St. Patrick's Day Parade, I could be interested in assisting but there seems to be no incentive other than to see my work published.... and no offence intended but I can put my time into earning money instead.

No apology necessary, we don't make any money from the mag, we advertise local businesses for free. We're trying to get the community talking, discussing, debating etc and we're highlighting shortfalls in amenities and services and so on. We have four writers already on board who are happy to contribute and some of their articles are impressive. I suppose it's a chance for them to find their style. You're right though, seen as we can't pay contributors, some are put off by this.
