Two Radiators Not Heating

Hi all. My parents home was built around 1984 and ever since then it was always noticed that the radiators in the two bedrooms (farthest from the boiler) would never heat up beyond 'luke warm'. It's oil fired central heating. Every other radiator in the house would be exceptionally hot whilst these two rads remain pretty much idle.

What's peculiar is that once two other radiators are switched off the two bedrooms become significantly warmer however not as much as you'd expect. A plumber called recently and installed a much stronger pump which, although heated the rest of the house much quicker did nothing for these two rads. The water levels in the system are constant and is at the correct pressure.

    It's a 4 bedroom home, about 2000 sq ft with 11 rads.

Any advice as to how to boost the heat in these rads? It's fine now that it's summer but the parents are dreading next winter.

    Hi,
From what you say it sounds like a balancing problem or the pipework to the two rads is undersized for the heat load. What size are the rads and pipework? Can you view the pipes under the floor? I presume if Trv's (thermostatic radiator valves) are fitted the plumber checked them?

Yeah, sounds like the rads need to be balanced properly to sort out this issue.
