Can someone please reccomend me a specific ariel that I need to recieve saorview?

I bought a digital tv yesterday and I just need to get my hands on an ariel now.

I'm living in Naas and I'd be delighted if some one could tell me exactly what to buy as there seems to be so much choice.

Provided there are no nearby obstructions such as trees, hills, buildings etc., you should have a good view of Kippure from there.

Something like this group C/D 'contract' aerial should be fine in that case.
I would always mount it outside as first preference; if it has to go in the loft you may need something bigger.

A Digital TV may not be enough to get Saorview, many TV's sold in Ireland are dumped from the UK market and not designed for Ireland. The TV needs to be certified or compatible with saorview, what make and model is the TV ?

Its a LG 32 inch LCD TV (32LD320)

I got it in Harvey Norman. The guy promised me thats its suitable for saorview. If its not I'm bringing it straight back.

Is it suitable do you think?

Yeah it should be fine for Saorview (http://www.powercity.ie/?par=10-12-32LD32&pages=1&prod=32LD32&brands=LG&image=). I use a 'rabbit ears' from a €2 shop and it works fine (though I am In Dublin, so the signal may be stronger). I'd suggest trying this, and if it doesn't work look at other options.

I use a cable for plugging it into a cable connection, not connected to anything at the other end.

Before that I used a clothes hanger.

Both have resulted in perfect signals.

    Success, I got sorted.

I bought one of these earlier and put it in the attic and it worked perfect.

Made mine my self, I had all the parts lying around the house so didn't cost me anything, works perfectly and it gets RTE 2 HD and all!

Looks like you skimped on the suction cup. Even matching coloured black electrical tape would have been more professional looking! Only 4 stars from me. ;-)
