I have silver paint overspray on the black plastic unit that runs the length of my Ford Focus just below the door sill.

Any ideas how to remove it?

Is the plastic smooth or textured?

A pot scrubber will do the trick

That, some soapy water and patience. Make sure you carefully clean off any rough dirt first or you'll get scratches

Depending on what type of paint. Becuase it is textured the paint gets in the textured groves. Any solvent will turn your plastic white. If the overspray sets up high enough you can use plastic razor blades to pop off the paint. Bug bricks some times work. Otherwise you have to recoat the plastic with some trim paint. If the plastic was smooth use could use a clay bar.
