Canon G12 Raw Images

Hi,

Just got a G12 for occasions when I don't want to carry the DSLR around all day. I generally use Adobe Camera Raw to process raw images from the DSLR for editing in CS4, but I see camera raw will not open raw files from the G12. I know CS5 will do this but I'm not looking to upgrade just yet.

Any suggestions? Canon DPP will convert the raw files to 8 or 16bit TIFFs, and I could do this as a batch job. I'm pretty sure ACR will process TIFFs just fine, but I'm concerned that the conversion process may not be lossless? Anyone know? Or is there a better way to process CR2 files from the G12?

Convert to DNG format using the Adobe free converter and on to CS4

Here's a useful link outlining various cameras and the minimum raw plug-in required to convert and open in Photoshop. The G12 needs Version 6.3 and Photoshop CS5 so, as Borderfox says, the only way to go is using the DNG converter and then open in CS4.
