    Hi,
I'm looking for, basically whatever is the best guitar for my price range.
I'm willing to spend about a max of €350.
I have gone around all the shops in town (Dublin)
and have my eye on a few.
    For example : a Cort L-100 F for €320
However, I'm not sure if I can do better.
Or would I get a better one by using Thomann.
    Any help appreciated thanks

RC88 not exactly what he is looking for.

I would look at a Tanglewood TW115stce, if you can afford it I would go the extra and get the asce but the stce is very close in quality. Nice build quality and nice woods used on them.

I generally wouldnt recomend buying an acoustic or electro acoustic online as a lot of the sound comes from the natural wood and if you play 2 of the same model they tend to be different. Each piece of wood has different grain pattern and different resonance. If you can, buy from a bricks and mortar store.

You might consider the second hand market as well as you can get some good deals at the moment.

In your price range I would look to get at least a solid top if not solid top and solid back. The sides dont have as much an impact but where possible get all solid.

The Cort tend to be a good deal though so I would say play as many models you can and pick your favourate.

The term 'semi-acoustic' actually refers to an electric hollowbody or semi-hollowbody guitar with magnetic pickups.

It's distinct from the term 'acoustic-electric', which refers to an acoustic guitar with some form of amplification like a microphone.

So, strictly speaking, RC88 gave him what he was looking for, although the context of the post did show what McGarnagle92 really meant to say.

    Just saying.

Christ sorry I meant Electro Acoustic not Semi. Sorry about the mix up there.

    thanks for the replies.

I wanted to originally go for a takamine or tanglewood but I can't find much choice in Dublin for them at all.
    Anywhere you'd recommend?
The cort seems good so far but maybe im not looking in the right places

I've seen Tanglewood guitars in Perfect Pitch, I think.

X Music also stock Takamines... and Tanglewoods. At least they did in the past. I've played both there.

Takamines can be good but at that price you would be looking at an eg330sc or similar which is an all laminate guitar as far as I can remember and I would probably choose the tanglewood over it. Although it is each to their own and some would rather the takamine. The Takamines are very reliable though. Personally I am just not a big fan.

    Edit to add :

Good price on the TW 115stce here (I hate to see folks using Thomann :D)
