Installers and the Saorview Logo

    This page from the Saorview website has been updated recently regarding the unapproved use of the Saorview logo on vehicles for example
    Installers

    TV aerial/receiver installersInstallers will play a key role in ensuring the successful roll out of the SAORVIEW service in the next 18 months.
    Given the unregulated nature of aerial installation services in Ireland, at present we are not in position to register aerial/receiver installers as registered retailers.

    We are at present actively considering how we can best support all aspects of the aerial and TV trade for the benefit of both the trade and consumers.
    SAORVIEW will keep you updated of all developments in this regard.

    Logo Use

    The SAORVIEW logo is for use by manufacturers on approved receivers and by registered retailers to communicate the selling of approved receivers ( Set top boxes and iDTVs ) at the point of sale through retail premises, and on websites by registered online retailers.

    The SAORVIEW logo may not be used in relation to Installation Services (eg: on vehicles )

    SAORVIEW is a registered trademark owned by RTÉ.

    Its happening already there is numerous so called Aerial riggers popping up with the Saorview logo on flyers and banners. Down here there is Sky sales crowds claiming to be Saorview agents imagine what tripe they are spilling out to people door to door. Another guy has an add on local radio mentioning Saorview the guy is using non Saorview certified boxes and is not a registered retailer. This morning I found 12 online mentioning Saorview or using the saorview logo and 11 of them are not retailers and the last 1 is a Sky sales crowd who have registered Its just a matter of time before they are removed from the Saorview site. So the sooner the Business is regulated the better.
