Hi all, I have a squashed pipe feed to a radiator possibly by tile installer or plumber, by squashed I mean almost flattened, it's narrow bore on a gentle bend exiting from tiled floor, is there any way I can open out pipe to get better flow without having to remove tile and replace pipe section, thank you.

Not that i know off. However if your rad is heating up for the moment i would not worry about it.

Although going into the future it might be the first area to look for a blockage

Had you skirtin on the wall. When this is taken off. This usually causes this damage.

Thanks Joey, the rad is heating up ok, just wanted to improve performance to improve heat in the bathroom. During the winter I leave the heat on 24/7 at very low boiler stat setting, do you think it possible to install underfloor heating in this room only, with regular rads elsewhere in the house, thanks Joey.

You could install electrical heating like a devimat under the tiles

Yip i agree. However I would read up on devi. They use to use a hunting stat which means every 15 mins it sent a signal to the controler to asses the temp. This use to cost a fortune in electricity.

I would get a mat connected with a traditional on off timer and have it coming on for an hour in the morning and what ever in the evening.

However i sometimes find the kids( and the vimmen) use the override on this which still costs you a fortune.

    Bring back the bath mats.

Thanks very much for addressing my queries guys. Here is what I would like to explore: As I have a really well insulated home ( 120mm external insulation, roof also, double glazing etc) leaving the boiler on 24/7 winter months lowest stat setting, will piped underfloor heating in bathroom, replacing the rad, work in conjuction with the remainder of the house heated by rads all from the same OFCH system, will I need seperate control for bathroom, if this is possible. Thanks again guys.

i dont think you will have enough space in just the bathroom i imagine to heat it through underfloor. Especially seen as though it will be the only underfloor.

Also the expense in switching to underfloor would far outweigh the cost of replacing the rad pipe. The ceiling down stairs would have to be re done for starters

Why the sudden jump in expense? It seems very erratic? Are you thinking something else?
