I've been uemployed for a while and collecting unemployment benefit, I got a job and rang social welfare to tell them, and they sent out my last balancing unemployment benefit amount. However the job was short lived and I made the descision to leave after 2 days (I don't want replys saying you're mad - I had good reason - end of.)

So I won't be getting paid for the 2 days I worked in this job, and thus no P45will be issued, so is there any way I can I get back on the dole?

Can you get the company to say they let you go? If you can then you are sorted. Otherwise its weeks of misery and appealing to the CWO.

Any case for constructive dismissal. As in did they leave you with no choice but to leave? If that is the case then you might be able to explain that to the SW. It all boils down to the reason for leaving.

If you are not getting a p45 then you will be lucky to see any dole before July.

    that all sounds bizarre

how can you have had a job but not get paid or get a p45

I reckon it would look very bad for that company if the government found out you worked for them but didn't get paid or didn't get setup for tax properly.

Maybe your situation isn't good with the company but if you can it might be worthwhile going and asking for the p45 anyway.

The company is obliged by law to pay you for the 2 days and issue you with a p45.

if you look under the thread for work problems you will see there are plenty of people who have worked more than two days in a company and still not gotten paid so its not unusual and the advice given is to go to nera and report them

if your not getting paid or a p45 drop in to your social welfare and explain to them that the job fell through and that you want to re open your claim it really shouldnt be an issue it just depends on your local office
