I have a 05 525d with 71000 miles on clock.Was driving along today and when i put foot down in 2nd gear it took about 3-4 secs before the power kicked in which is alot longer than normal.It happened all through the gears up to 5th. Have had a couple of e60 diesels and never had a problem like that - it does sound like a turbo problem tho

May not be too bad though, could be the likes of a control flap or the wastegate linkage being sloppy for whatever reason or something else not too bad. Needs to be inspected though and I wouldn't be driving it until it is checked out.

mate had same problem last year on his 525d was told it was the boost control valve cost him 220 to get fixed
