LINKYThoughts on the styling? It seems a step back from the stylistic precipice the company was heading for. Looks very long. Like an estate. Odd, but nice. That's how I like me Subies.

    Saloon is a mutt though

+1 on the saloon, looks Corolla ish.

Hatch looks well though, hints of classic Subaru about it, late 80s stuff.

I don't like the rear of it in saloon form.
    Est is ok though.

As I said. :) I am glad to see this. I think the company could have down very fast if it kept up the very dodgy styling on the likes of the new Legacy and the beat down Tribeca.

No doubt though that Subaru will shoot themselves in the foot again though by pitching it against the Corolla and pricing it like an Avensis.. Think the saloon is poxy but the estate is OK. Don't think it is a return to form for a great car maker.

Come to think of it I'm having trouble remembering the last time I saw an Impreza, Legacy or Tribeca..

They need to wise up and get the diesel into the US. They'll sell like hot cakes. Est is not bad but saloon is god awful.

it looks like it was designed by the guy who designed the soldiers in halo. :D

Not surprised as Subaru have strong links with Toyota these days. They are both launching a co-developed rwd Celica type coupe in the next 12 months too.

Doesn't look fantastic but they should be decent all the same.

    The saloon looks terrible.

And the hatch doesn't look great.

    Boo-urns.

Thats actually supposed to be the new incarnation of the AE86 Twincams, hence the name FT-86.
On the new Imprezas, wouldnt be gone on the styling of them at all to be honest. To me the last truly fantastic looking Impreza was the hawkeye model.

didnt mitsubishi say theyre not making a new evo? if so, this makes that fact even worse. mank. looks like a blinged up kia or somthing now rather than the baby version of a rally car. subaru have totally lost their way with this model imo

Have to admit my knowledge on cars is somewhat limited compared to some posters but at first glance...Looks like a Toyota Corolla...I have an idea of what an Subari Impreza should look like and this just is not it..Shame

They did - but I think they've since retracted that statement so the EVO may not yet be killed off.

Dont like either of the two models, the saloon is really bad ......

    WTF were they thinking?

Is that a toyota in disguise?

Something about the creases around the rear wheel arches is really throwing me off. For some reason I don't think any size of wheel, no matter how big, would fill those wheel arches.

I can only imagine how bad it'll look with Irish spec 16s on it...

    Another new Impreza!! :eek::rolleyes:

It'll look as bad as this:

I'm pretty sure any Legacies that are sold are fitted with 18''s. It needs them desperately to fill out the arches.

It seems the new Subarus are both 'Americanised' and 'Toyotaised'. I have the old model Leggie and would buy another if the new model followed the same design theme as the previous incarnations. But not spending my money on this ****e...

Guess it proves the Toyota theme is infecting Subaru :(

Yeah, that Celica looks fantastic in the press bits I've seen of it. A proper looking car with what seems to be a decent engine :)

Wouldnt be wild on this, it does just look like a blinged up Kia C'eed.

    Where's the rallying heritage gone???

Is it me, or are Subaru model cycles very short? The present generation only came out like 3-4 years ago.

I think Subaru should focus on actually making some decent looking cars rather than replacing them so often. The last generation Legacy looked so right that it's frustrating they messed the new one up so badly.
