Would the Nct people send me copies of my previous Nct certs if I requested it? I'd just like to have them in my possession as part of the history of the car. Previous owner just binned them all except for the current one!

I'm a hoarder and I keep car receipts for everything, even wiper blades:)

Dunno why any potential buyer would want to see historic certs as long as the car has a current one (should you sell it).

You could ring up and ask though. They're probably about 50 quid each for a copy, even if they do exist!!

I wouldn't pay silly money for them. If they said €25 admin fee for the lot I'd pay it.

it'd be a handy way to prove the mileage history without having to pay for a motorcheck etc

Won't the service receipts serve this purpose? The NCT is only every two years, he would be getting a service more often than that.

    How wrong can one be.

I think old NCT certs are one of the few things you can have in this country to confirm the mileage of a car.

the NCT is an official source though, and its becoming clear recently that there's a good market out there for forged service histories.
